He Saw Mother Mary Appear Above A Church In Egypt (Our Lady of Zeitoun)

He witnessed the famous Our Lady of Zeitoun miracle himself, a miracle seen by an estimated one million people in Egypt in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and it is, to my knowledge, the best example of a supernatural miracle that was extensively photographed.

When I was very young, we used to live in Alexandria, Egypt. It was a time when the Virgin Mary appeared outside her church (the Church of St. Mary in Zeitoun, in Cairo). Zeitoun is a suburb of Cairo. I remember my dad took us (Mum and Brother) to Cairo to watch this miraculous appearance. It was night, and I still remember the great number of people standing outside in the church courtyard and surrounding streets, looking up towards the dome of the church. Then suddenly there would be flashes of light appearing from the church dome, and people would be screaming and shouting, “It’s the Virgin Mary!” I still remember this as if it happened yesterday. I also remember the feeling of excitement and apprehension at the same time. It’s something that I WILL NEVER FORGET.

The appearance of the Virgin Mary outside her church went on for some time, spanning from 2 April 1968 till 29 May 1971. Photographs of a figure-like person appearing to be kneeling at the dome of the church in front of the cross were later analysed by a NASA scientist, with the conclusion that THIS WAS A SUPERNATURAL EVENT.

Some people have been wondering why the Virgin Mary appeared in Zeitoun. Some have speculated that it was because Zeitoun was the place the Holy Family visited in Egypt to escape the persecution of King Herod. Others have wondered if the Virgin Mary appeared to comfort the people when there was tension between Christians and Muslims.

For a fact, it has left a BIG IMPRESSION on me. MAY THE BLESSINGS OF THE VIRGIN MARY BE ALWAYS WITH US.
