Her 4-Year-Old Son Saw a Man at the Hospital, Then Recognized Him in a Picture of St. Padre Pio
Barbara Merrigan shared her miracle story with me on September 8th via a comment on my miracle story video ad. Her son saw St. Padre Pio appear to him at the hospital, not knowing who he was until his mother showed him a picture.
My son, when 4 years of age, was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the back of his brain. My mum, dad, sister, aunt, and uncle had all died before that, one after another. I felt alone, and that it was not fair that my child was now seriously ill. I felt I had no one to support me and had nothing with me at the time to give us support, when all these offers of support, relics, medals, holy water, etc. started coming. My cousin had sent away for a St. Philomena relic and oil a few months ago, and it had just arrived at the hospital a minute before he went into surgery. I blessed him with it. Some man had arrived at night and said he was sent with Padre Pio’s mitt to pray for my son. I was a bit skeptical, as my sister and mother loved Padre Pio but they suffered before they died, though they had received comfort before they died. I was afraid he was going to die too, but I asked my son to pray and ask God to heal him. My son said, when I showed him a picture of Padre Pio after he recovered and was out of hospital, that that was the man who came to visit him at the hospital. He had a miraculous healing, I believe. No tumour found, and a clot removed, no cancer found. A lady brushing the floor asked me and my husband to put 9 candles up at the altar; she wanted to pray to the Sacred Heart for my son. So my husband went to the chapel straight away. I stayed with my son. While my son was asleep while ill, it was a dark cloudy day. Suddenly the dark clouds parted and a bright ray of light shone in the window of the hospital straight at my son. He woke up, sat up, and looked straight at the ray of light coming in the window, and gave the most beautiful smile looking at the ray of light. I called him a few times but he just kept looking at the light and smiling. I thought to myself, I wonder is that anything to do with Liam at the chapel praying for him. Just then the light disappeared and he lay down in the bed again, closed his eyes, and went back to sleep. While Richard was in surgery, Liam and I went to the local chapel. We went to confession, Mass, and Holy Communion, and prayed continuously for Richard. We then went to the waiting room at the hospital, waiting for Richard to come out of theatre. While entering, another lady handed me a little ring rosary. We were praying non-stop in silence, waiting. I prayed to my guardian angel for an answer to my prayers. You know when you get a rose, you know that St. Thérèse has answered your prayers. Well, I thought, who’s going to walk in here with a rose in the waiting room? So I started to doubt. Then I looked down at my hands and realised I had the rosary in my hands that the lady had given me. When I looked, there were 10 roses 🌹 round the rosary in my hand. I was totally amazed. Then I said to my husband, Liam, Richard is going to be alright. Just then a nurse entered the room to say my son was just awake and crying for his Mammy. Thank God he’s alive. Then got the news, no tumour, a miracle, I really do believe. Thank God and all the angels and saints for a miraculous healing. Amen 🙏🙏🙏🌹🌹🌹
