Butterflies Miraculously Appeared To Show Her God Is Good

Judy Hodder Angell shared her miracle story with me via a comment on Facebook in March 2026. A series of miracles involving butterflies led her to believe, without a doubt, in the afterlife and God’s goodness.

I’m a firm believer in God! I never saw an angel, but here’s my story. My son ended up in the hospital on life support in the ICU. One day, when my husband and I went to see him, the doctor met us outside and said, “I have some good news.” This morning I started to cry; I was so proud. He said when they went in where my husband was, there was a butterfly on his chest, and he opened his eyes and said, “I saw my Dad.” His dad had died a few years before. The doctor said it was nothing short of a miracle, and they had no idea how the butterfly got into the ICU.

Years later, my son passed away on Feb 28. I asked God to send me a sign to let me know he was at peace. After coming from his funeral in March, I was about to open my front door when I looked to the side and there was a butterfly on the snow. I took my phone and took a picture, then fell to my knees and thanked God. I have the picture to show, and every year for the past 8 years I’ve seen a butterfly on his birthday. I have videos where they have even perched on my hand. God sure does answer prayer.
