An Angel Helped Her Save A Man’s Life After She Prayed
On August 12th, Debbi Caldwell Coughlan shared this amazing miracle story with me in a comment on my Facebook miracle story video. She believes God sent an angel after she prayed for help.
I was a registered nurse, working in home health, when this occurred.
I had gone to the school to pick up my children at 3 p.m. A husband and wife parked next to me to pick up their granddaughter. They were in a large, tall, converted van. The husband was one of my patients.
His window was down, as was mine. We talked back and forth while waiting for the discharge bell and for our children to come out.
One of the sheriff’s deputies came to assist with traffic. She happened to be a very close friend. At the time she was parking her unit, my patient made an unusual noise and slumped over. His wife started screaming for me to help him.
Upon opening his door, I saw that the seat was at my shoulder level and he was a very large, heavy man. There was no possible way for me to get him to the ground between our vehicles. After breathing a quick prayer—“Lord, help”—an extremely beautiful man appeared by my side, lifted my patient, and laid him on the ground by my feet. He did this as if he were picking up a piece of paper.
I assessed my patient, then began CPR. At that moment, my deputy friend came over, saying she had radioed for a bus. She began compressions while I did the respirations. School had let out, and the wife was encouraging the children to stand back.
(I distinctly remember some kid yelling, “Yuck! He vomited in her mouth,” as I spit out the emesis and cleared his throat the best I could.)
The ambulance arrived, took over the CPR, loaded him on the stretcher, and took him on to the hospital—which was less than half a mile away. The granddaughter was collected, and they went to the hospital. I got my children, and we also went to the hospital.
My patient was successfully revived, and he lived a few more months. But neither the wife nor the deputy ever saw that beautiful man who had lifted my patient out of the van and placed him on the ground next to me. I had briefly looked up to thank him after the respiratory effort, before beginning the compressions, but the man was nowhere to be seen. Then, after resuming respirations, that’s when the deputy joined in the efforts.
I have no other explanation than that an angel intervened.
